 Post subject: trnny problem

so i went out driving my truck for the first time in a while and whenever i get on the gas something with the clutch or transmission is slipping. the tires arent spinning but the rpms continue to go up while the truck dosent accelerate at all. any ideas as to what it could be? what go's on with fluids in the tranny?

Do you notice a bad smell? If so, it must be the clutch. Maybe you should see if there's anything dripping out from the clutch. Oil, lube or water can screw things up on a clutch but it would have a smell to it too.

well the problem was that something must have scraped the bottom fo the truck because i noticed scrapes all along the drive line where it was down to bare metal and a big dent in the exhaust. well the arm for the slave cylinder popped out and was depressing a piec about half an in so in turn it was pretty much like friving with my foot halfway to the floor. but its all fixed now with no problems.

It's a good thing you got it figured out soon enough before you really trashed it.
If you tweaked out a bunch of stuff underneath, you need to give everything a deep inspection.

Yea. Like Blue said, You might have damaged a brake line or something also. I'd roll around under there and give it a good once over.
