Before...with the rust scale removed.

During...after the first coat of silver applied.

And After!!!! The final result.

I'll be getting a liner today, put the seat back in, and post another photo.

The hole was repaired using what the POR-15 company calls "Power Mesh, steel reinforcing fabric", which is applied right on top of the first wet coat of silver and more silver applied on it. The paint is allowed to dry and more coats applied, resulting in a hard coating. I still need to put some underneath the repair, as per the directions. I can detect some "give" in the finished repair where the hole was, but I believe after the liner goes in and the mats are in place, there won't be any perception of weakness.

Here's a photo of the mesh...it's fiberglass.

I liked the fact that I did this all myself at home, and didn't have to get the vehicle worked on at a shop.

Cool

So To Make A Long Story Sort Sheet Fiberglass Without Using Reasin

If I Cought All That Right

Never The Less It Should Be Strong Enough You Will Have To Coat It Good On Both Sides To Prevent Water Damage

To the land of pecan pralines and 14-year old weddings:

It's 31º outside, and I'll do the coat underside later, but thanks for the warning before I go anywhere it must be done.
By the way, the kit cost me $154 delivered!

:)

LOL

Short-bed, long-bed, stepside, and stepthrough! A pertinent warning!

Whew! I never did one of these before, and it was a lot of work. I was pretty mad for awhile since I expected the liner to fit right in. It was WAY too large, and covered the whole floor all the way under the seat to the back wall. It was like a huge piece of leather. I had to trim it about four times. The padding also had to be trimmed. Now it's in and floor mats on top; I'm glad.

I also added an extra seat belt for my son to ride in the middle.

I drove around the block a couple times, and the Luv is really KICKING!!!! I can't wait to get it out on the open road and start having fun.

Thank you Shawn. I'm going to put the POR-15 underside later today. It's turned quite cold up here in the Pacific Northwest, and the coating takes awhile to dry. I'm going to turn the Luv around and put the front end up on ramps to make access easy. I also have a new bypass hose coming tomorrow. I still need the weatherstripping. I found one place, Camaros and Classics.com that says they have the right weatherstripping, for $50. I think I'll order it.

Don't eat all the candy in one day!

I used Por 15 on my Cab floor, and the floor of the bed. I only had one bad spot of rust in the Cab about a inch square. So I cut out the bad spot,
and took a piece of sheet metal and riveted it over that spot. Then painted it. I never used that mesh, but it sounds like it worked good.

I would say that you cleaned up the interior nicely.
