hell i would get it just for the a/c and the lift gate. if all else fails you could sell the a/c stuff and the lift gate and probably get your money back.

I could make them... but no, it's got a gigantic slab of steel in the bed though...

And i'm gonna look at it thurs. morn and put a batt. in it and take a look at the flats on it, then i'll probably give them the cash fri. aft....

Oooohhhh, scary AF guy, geuss i'll have to get it just to stay in the "informative" thread.

Don't want it now, interior is pretty much trashed, engine runs good though. Need's motor mount, Tune-up, there's a brake fluid leak somewhere... it's got brakes but they go down toooooo far, clutch needs adjusting badly, needs: valve cover gasket, frt. main seal, muffler/exhaust, they cut the lift gate off cause it didn't work, ac doesn't work, pwr str. doesn't "feel" right, need's a coolant flush, odd's n' ends'... i don't want to spend 300 bucks on the truck and have to spend alot more later to keep it around. At least the head isn't cracked and it cranks right up. idk, might pick it up later on in the year and drop the motor in another truck.

BTW, why's the dist. in the back of the motor? what's different about this 2.3 and the g-sieres motors?

Hey, heard about this truck from your dad over on the Isuzu PUP forum and didn't sound like too bad of a truck. Sorry to see you aren't going to get it. He also said it needed a tune up and one motor mount was bad over at the PUP forum. Even if you do plan to get it later on you could always drop in a diesel engine. That's what I was telling your dad about if you guys did happen to get it.

Salvy

Well, it's just not worth getting it right now if i'd save up 300 to get it instead of blowing most of my check this fri. to get it, then it wouldn't be much of a problem to get it and tinker with it.

Dist runs off a gear on the camshaft instead of the oil pump/crank like the G series. The 4Z series (2.0, 2.3, and 2.6L motors) stuff uses a timing belt instead of a gear, so there wasn't a convenient place to hook the dist up front. It also gives a lot more room for power steering pump, AC compressor, and such. In short, there is a lot of stuff that is different between the two motor families. Almost no major parts interchange, but much of it is similar.

Hey Finalman.
I am in Gibsonville, NC.(just East of Greensboro near Burlington)
There don't seem to be too many other Diesel owners out there.
I have an 82. Hopefully I can keep it running for awhile.
There are alot of things I'd like to do to it but I am new to working on a diesel.
