i am putting a body lift in my truck and i was wondering if i would have to get a new shifter arm. cause i don't know if its attached to the tranny or if its one thats attached to the cab with linchage. so help me so i don't buy somethin i don't need :evil:

It's part of the transmission on a manual trans. I'm not sure about the automatics.

Asuming the shifter is the same for 2wd and 4wd (talking automatic), I would think you might at the worst have to make a longer link rod which shouldn't be too difficult. You might also be able to adjust the stock link out far enough to accomidate for the lift, but it's a stretch. If you are in fact running an automatic, you could always run an aftermarket shifter like from B&M and use a cable, and B&M has various length cables. If it's a stick then I don't know, that depends on what tranny/shifter setup.
