After some suspicion as to why the truck would overheat, it finally came to a fruitful conclusion.

The top of the radiator in the middle started seperating from the rest of the radiator. Now the problem is having to go fishing for another one until I get the $149 to get a new one.

Anyone know what cars to look in?

on Radiator.com They quoted me 139 for lifetime warranty, or if you
want just a year warranty 119. I think that does not include shipping.

Can't it be repaired at a radiator shop?

The closest radiator shop from me is about 2 1/2 hours away in Winston-Salem. I don't want to put that much gas money into it. I am going to try to fish one out of the BoneYard Sat, so maybe that will be good enuf.

Run around with the cap off it or gut the spring part out of the cap but make sure its a double seal type cap then as the water rises it will go off into the overflow bottle. If it cant build pressure only gravity can make it leak. You could try and seal it up for the time being with some good silicon or my favourite that Urethane windscreen adhesive. What ever you use make sure its clean as a whistle or it will never stick.

Keep your eye on the temp guage and keep it topped up.

Taking the cap off is a handy tip for any leak, i once drove 300 miles with a blown radiator hose taped up with electrical tape with the cap off towing a tandem trailer full of furniture.

I did yesterday for about 30 miles. When she started heating up, I stopped and filled it with more H20. Right now she is going to stay put until I get a radiator in her.

My poor LUV is sick - which means we are down to one truck. Both LUV's are out of commission until I get them fixed it looks like - and it is the month of having to Inspect them all.
