Get some 15" alloys off a Trouper. They look sweet ive got a ste for my ute.
You have to watch the offset of the rims. Most of the rims for beam axle 4x4's will poke out past the guards heaps and if you truck is lowered the tyres get chewed.
The other thing to take care with is the tyres you use, anything wider or lower than the std light truck tyres will make the steering unplesantly heavy pretty quick.
Heres the toyota style rim. These are 16x6 come in painted silver, chrome and black chrome that ive seen. You can get them in 15" but ive only seen chrome ones. I think they were std on the IFS SR5 4x4's, I could be wrong im a long way from you. lol. Tyres are 205/55/16 on the front and 215/60/16 on the back. Pretty heavy steering. Click the pick its a thumb.
Heres the Trouper alloys. Tyres are 195/65/15. I removed the 4x4 hub covers they are held on by 3 screws from the back. Im waiting on finding another set of rims and im going to get a guy i know to make up a die and stamp out some alloy domes i can use for centres. I rekon they look good.
Thats my truck in action pic. A few hours after it was taken i jack knifed the lot. Low speed on a gravel road. The ute on the trailer has no motor in it and thats a Trouper chassis up on the roof with just the front diff and suspension left on it. I was off to the bush to put it to pasture. Didnt do much damage just bought it home changed the tow bar tongue and the wheels and off i went again. Between the bead and tyre on the RH rims gravel and grass was stuffed in for sliding sideways when the trailer took over.
The major drama with the steel 4x4 rims is the weight, they are as heavy as buggery. With the 16" ones in the top pic on my ute, they zapped all the little go that i had, it multiplied the torque but they werent the best with a stock little motor.
Ive got a set of 15x7 aftermarket alloys as well. They are off a Toyota Landcruiser. They bolt on ok but they stick out past the guards by an inch at least. the first pic has 205/65/15 tyres on the front and the 31" tyres on the rear still. The second pic was the 31" on the front which rubbed on everything of course but you can see how far the poke out.
Ive got a set of 16" 4x4 rims off a Nissan ute (navara) for the KB when i do it. If i get a chance i will take some pics, ive got to move the ute in the next few days anyway so i can put the wheels on.
Hope ive helped.
Cheers. Bob.
