Wow this is an old thread of mine. But now I'm actually seriously considering it.

Now, what year Trooper did the 2.6 come in? And what year did the 2.3 intake come in?

Aaand last but not least, why is using the 2.3 intake with the 2.6 better?

idk but you would think it would be better to use the 2.6 on the 2.6 cuz the ports/openings would let more air in...
and the 2.6 on the 2.3 so even more air would be let in :? im confused

The 2.6L never came in a carb version, so the only intakes available are fuel injected. The 2.3L Intake lets you drop a carb on the 2.6L and keep it pretty simple.

2.3L carb motors: 86 and some 87 troopers, pickups/P'ups up to around 93 might have a carb

2.6L motor: troopers up to 91, pickups and whatnot up into the late 90s

for the inline 6 ide consider cutting/smashing you firewall back and removing you radiator cause there really inst that much space to work with here, you would be better off putting that back in a jeep and getting a 2.6l like everyone else, unless you comitted to the jeep motor in wich case i wish you the best of luck
