Very nice truck...I think it'll actually shine still if you get the oxidation off the top.

Let me know if you need some photocopies of my FSM (Factory Service Manual) SMOG diagrams...if your hood label is still readable, you should be able to put it together by just poking around.

My 1979 CA emissions equiped vehicle was flagged as a gross polluter 2 years ago, but the State of California bought me a new catalytic converter and now she runs CLEAN...something like 10% of allowed emissions levels now. Don't remove the factory installed SMOG stuff, if you do that, all bets are off and the state won't help you one bit.

This year they said I had too much O2 dilution and had to get a new muffler. The Midas guys almost didn't honor my "Lifetime replacement" certificate...I had to read them the part that said "will not be charged for parts or labor"... the guy was hella pissed and was like where the hell did you get this warranty. I showed him the address was that very shop...he just went into his office-LOL .

Lifetime in a LUV is a LONG time...

Amen to the LUV's lifetime, If you got any insight into testing the different components that would be cool. All i can guess is to apply vac to the hoses and see if stuff moves.. i think i've read about the map sensor sticking somewhere on here Thankx for being cool

Do you mean the braided looking ones, those I have not seen for sale yet, the vacuum hoses are easy, I figure any hose that fit air pump should work, thats the hard one i think

They don't have to be braded. Any rubber hose will work. I would try to get oil resistant though. (like fuel line except bigger)
