I believe that's the temp sensor connector. I looked at the wiring diagram in the information section and it's part of that harness.

That wire either goes on a sensor up under the intake manifold for the temp. gauge or it goes to a sensor down low on the block just above the oil pan, for the oil light.

50/50 it could be either. At first I would have guessed temp, since my temp gauge doesn't seem to be working, or oil light, the wire was hanging straight down in the direction described.

Turn on key engine off. Ground the wire to metal on the engine, if temperature wire gauge will go to hot, if oil pressure wire the oil light will come on.

Thanks for the tips....turns out, it's the oil light. Which I guess is moot, since I have a Sunpro oil pressure gauge?

When I put my engine in I'm going to add a tee to the oil pressure port on the block, and have BOTH the stock oil pressure light on the dash, and a gauge measuring psi. I'm going to run copper tubing instead of the plastic line that came with the gauge. The tee came separately and cost an extra $5. The grommets go into a 3/8" hole.
