Be careful with the rubber replacement freeze plugs, they are at best for a emergency situation.

The location of the bad freeze plug will decide if it is a easy one or hard one to replace. You may have to remove a intake or exhaust manifold to gain access.

I had one blow out of my block on my LUV twice... so I bought a block heater in it's place and didn't have a problem.

looked under the truck today.
I believe the leak was from the lower radiator hose, so I made tight.

Also notice that the very small oile leak may have been coming from the oil pan. The oil pan bolts were very loose, all of them were about the same in loosness. So I snugged them up. I guess from years of oil and vibration.
Is it comon for these small oil pan bolts to loosen up?

Yep....as gaskets get older, they tend to get brittle and shrink up.

Good old cork (or any other gasket type) doesn't last forever (and that's why you never re-use or re-tighten an old gasket) because heat, weather, vibration, and pressure changes together with long-term exposure to petroleum products will always eventually win.

Besides....replacing a leaky gasket is always a lot cheaper than fixing the damage that a leak could cause to your engine.

And I personally don't like to work on or around dirty slimy greasy engine compartments...so I keep mine clean and my engine free of oil leaks.

Anybody that brings any vehicle around my place for repairs gets to put in some pressure washing time out at the curb before it even gets into my shop.
