Anyone know an easy fix for the fuel gauge that only reads when the tank is full and then after driving a little it shoots down to empty??
Is this easy to replace?
Please help.
thanks

Try cleaning the connection at the fuel tank sender. You can see it if you look thru the drivers side wheelwell between the top of the fuel tank and bed. I had this same problem a long time ago. To change the out the tank sender requires the removal of the tank itself. I doubt that you'll need to go that far because if you were to see the tank sender itself, it's a very simple unit. The most likely problem is in the wiring/connections.

If my memory serves me correctly, the tank sending unit is a potentiometer. Therefore take an ohmeter and check for resistance on the wire going from the indicator on the dash to ground. Be sure to disconnect that wire from the back of the gauge first. Infinity would possibly indicate an open resistor or pot, which, as I recall, makes the gauge read full or empty.
