Well, I found most of the problems and fixed them. Now when she gets up to about 50-55 and is held there, she now acts like she isn;t getting any gas. She dies just long enough to where she needs to be restarted.

When the sun comes back up I will look over all of the vacuum hoses, but anyone got suggestions?

Two things come to my mind. Points and fuel flow. Check or just replace the points. If one or the other side has build up on it that changes the effective gap. Fuel flow could be the pump or the filter. When I've had that problem before the truck would make it up to a certain speed and then just refuse to go any faster. If you push down on the pedal any further, it would start to die off. You can also duplicate the problem at lower speeds by just staying in a lower gear. It is higher RPMs that uses more fuel. You can often wind it out in lower gears getting up to speed before the carb bowl runs dry, so try 3rd and hold it at a higher rpm to see if it eventually runs out.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me too...

Well, the filter was full and the points looked new.

I retimed the thing setting at 8 degrees and completely set the carb like on a 75 and she would run up to 65 with out any problems. I actually made sure that I followed the book for a 75 not a 77 (the engine is a 77) and she runs like a top now.

I timed it to a 77 and I kept getting really crappy results, like 2 1/2 turns on the mix and the like and got a rich mix and a bunch of other things.

Caint waite for a weber to land in my lap.
