hi again to the all knowing from the dosen't have a clue mom.

my son and my dad are working on the 1980 luv and we need new fuses but the fuses are just open and no cover on them so we do not know if
1 there is supposed to b e a cover over the fuses
2 what amperage each amp port is supposed to be
3 dad said that the ignition is connected to the fuse box
is that the way it is supposed to be, or is this just another hot wire that we
need to over come?

not sure if I am much help, but my 78 has a fuse cover as should yours. All of my fuses were 15 amp, and I know that missing the fuse for the regulator will keep the motor from running.. but I am not sure if you have the same fuse block as mine....

In the information section of the website, there's .pdf files of wiring diagrams for each year model. Open the file that's for your year truck and find the fuse block. It should show what size fuse should fit at each holder. You might want to go ahead and download the file to your computer for future reference. Good luck!

I just looked at the diagram and they all are 15 amp fuses.

Yes, the last 4 fuses should be 10 amp for the headlights. The first 6 should be 15 amp on the 73 model year. It seems that the fuse box wiring is the same for U.S. and U.K. trucks.
The later year trucks have smaller fuse blocks so make sure that you get the correct file for your year.

.22 shells work too. might want to beef up the firewall a bit though!

I can look at my cover and tell you what the fuse labels are tomorrow if you like. That'll save some time tracing lines in the pdf...
