The shimmies was caused by a loose u-joint on the aft drive shaft. How the Hell the Jiffy Lube dummy in the pit couldn't have found that after I told him to shake it is beyond me. Jeez! And how I managed to drive it nearly a 1000 miles home without loosing the drive shaft on the road is beyond me, also.

Yeah, but if Jiffy Lube had done it's job I would've now just gotten home from my vacation instead of aborting it early. That pisses me off. But I guess you get what you pay for. Jiffy Lube didn't charge me for two squirts of grease. One in each upjoint.

Sucky think with express lube joints, (I know, I work at one) is that alot of employees are too worried about their "bay times" to think about the quality of their work and skip the stuff that they don't think the average person would check, and then act all innocent like they just happened to miss such a small fitting when they do run into someone who knows as much as they do. Where I work we usualy don't give these asses too many oppurtunities before you're fired. Lucky me to have a high maintainance vehicle so I know how important the little stuff is.

Case and point is that you shouldn't ever believe they'll do it just cause they say they did, check and if you find something, raise hell! They didn't just accidently miss it, they skipped it to save time and thought you were stupid enough not to notice.

Whew. . .had a few lazy co-workers and had to vent my frustrations out. Good info though.

Pretty much sums up why I do all my own work besides that I also save a few bucks. If I have to crawl around under there and check everything when I pay someone to do it, why not just do it myself in the first place. I can understand on a vacation that you might not be able to find a place to work on something though. I'd have to pull my 2WD up onto a curb or something to squeeze under it without my ramps along, and I'm a pretty skinny dude.
