My water control vave is leaking. I found a universla replacment on carparts.com Has anybody replacd them before and if so, should I be replace any other parts.

its going to require a little fabrication. it will mount different, and it may hook up to the cable that opens it up. you might have to change the hoses that go to it too. the universal valve is probably a better design since its newer.

mine never worked right. I put a new one on and it quit working a long time ago. im not replacing it with the V8 swap....if you don't have the money just buy a hose and bypass it.

Just wondering if anyone else has replaced theirs? Mine leaks when I have the controls on cool. If I bypass it with a tube I think it may be hot all the timel. Jchwhitney has two size options 5/8 and 3/4. A new cable is a option as well. I think i'm going to get both valve and cable.
I'll post how things go after I get it back together. 8)

good news guys.....mine is bypassed w/a 90 degree tee and the heater still only operates when the heater or def. is on.

when the switch is set to vent it doesn't heat the air coming into the cab.

iv'e had a hard time finding one to replace it with. the guy at the parts store said that they wern't made anymore. but that's there supplier though.
