The guy I had rebuild mine said it was a medium difficulty job. So not too bad. It only took him a couple hours, but then again, he was a proffesional. The rebuild kit only cost me $17 at Autozone.

1. Of the four screws that hold the bottom (throttle body) to the middle (fuel chamber body), one screw has a hole thru the length of it. Remember where it goes.

2. The accellerator pump chamber has a check valve at the bottom (A round bb), so don't lose it.

3. Take a picture or make a drawing of all the linkages that connect the various levers on the outside of the carb. It can get confusing when you're putting the carb back together.

I'm sure you'll get other suggestions. If I think of more, I'll post them.

Bcg, I rebuilt my carb half a dozen times, and kept finding other things wrong with it. It is not the easiest carb to get into. I suggest a clean light colored towel, (old one  ) and take your time. Lay everything out so it is easy to find.

Good luck and I am trying to get some work done on my luv so I can take pics.

I definately second the motion to make sure you know the linkages properly. When I rebuilt mine it was a couple years ago and I arrogantly (not to mention incorrectly) thought I'd be able to get the linkages right. Well, the carb runs better now after the rebuild but I have a linkage problem that I'm still trying to figure out. I think once you get the carb on the bench its not too hard as long as you're careful, but getting those linkages wrong can end up causing you a lot of headaches and lost time.
