Fit the gasket to the glass, then put the rope in the gasket groove, then set it in the truck's groove, setting the bottom of the glass first. You will want to arrange your rope so that it will pull out from the bottom to the top. I think the way we did it, we pulled the rope from the inside of the truck, but I cant remember for sure. You will know which way to do it once you get the gasket on the glass. You will be able to tell that it will pull easier one way than the other. Use something to lubricate it in that will dry later, like Windex or some other glass cleaner. You can (and will need to) push along the edge to seat in better into the gasket as you are working (i.e. push on the top edge to seat in the bottom of the gasket better), but no matter how tempting dont push ON the glass too much (push gently if at all), especially if it is getting into a bind. Otherwise, you will do like I did the first time, and almost have the windshield all the way in and it was bowing a bit, and I pushed a bit with the palm of my hand and it cracked. Just back it out and start over again. Most important rule is to be patient. I had a pro come out and do my second attempt and this is what he did. Even he had to start over once, but after it was all said and done, it only took like 30 minutes.
