I've been thinking about doing a write up of the things you should do when you buy a new LUV. Near the top on the list (if the stocker motor is going to be running you around for long) is cap, rotor, points, condensor, plugs, and wires. Just those little tidbits can make a huge difference in performance and cost you only $50 or so. (Drop the wires if the ones you have are still looking good and you are probably $20-30) On a truck where those parts have been left a long time, you can get more out of an ignition tuneup than you could dropping a weber and a header on it.
