Just wondering if you can use a dfv or dfev(the mirror images of dgv and dgev) on a 80 luv 4x4? does the linkage being on the other side pose any problems? Are the primary and secondarys reversed and is that a problem? Thanks for any help. P.S Love this site only used it for a couple of days but the members are very helpful and friendly.

Get the "e" one with the electric choke. You already have the wiring on your 80. The correct one for a LUV has the linkage on the firewall side. I fabricated a different standoff to connect the throttle cable housing to. The one in the Weber kit sets too low. I also used the throttle lever on the old Hitachi, cuz I didn't want to cut the swedged end off the cable. With a round adapter on the air horn, you can use the stock breather and still have preheat for cold starts.

i have a dgev on my 80 LUV and it rocks. If you need pics or anything of how it bolts up i would be more than happy to take some and e-mail em to you.
