Your other posts say you have a 76 4x4, which didn't come from the factory as a 4x4. (79 was the first official year for 4x4 LUVs) That alone is enough to say it has to have some modifications. I'm betting it has a solid front axle, like 81luv said looks pretty much like the rear axle. Solid steel from one wheel to the other. A stock independent front suspension from a 4x4 LUV has an axle (the center section at least, where the driveshaft goes into it) that doesn't move with the wheels as you go over bumps. Then there are flexible joints that attach from that to the hubs where the wheels sit.
Seems kind of odd that someone would swap frames to get 4x4 and then swap the Isuzu motor back into a different frame. Makes me wonder what sort of frankenstein creation you have on your hands there. Is the gas tank on the driver's side of the truck just forward of the rear axle? If it is in a different spot that would tell us something. Also, on the motor is the valvle cover (top of motor, says Isuzu on it) black(might be painted different color) and made of sheet steel or is it aluminium? Aluminium would point to a newer Isuzu motor and maybe the source of the frame. They put carbureted motors in Isuzu pickups and Amigos up until about 93 I think and you were talking about carb problems so that narrows the field to just a few Isuzu motors if its not just simply the luv 1.8L.
Man if you could get some pics of this thing it might help to figure out what the heck it is.
