Forgive my ignorance, but what's the correlation between the LUVs and Isuzu? Interchangeable? :?

the LUV is the same truck that Isuzu marketed in other markets under the KB badge. Its also vary simmilar to the P'Ups. And yes the LUVs are Isuzu trucks 8)

As long as its the same body style yes. But if theres an Isuzu P'up near you then i would just measure it up. I know that if the spare tire mount werent behind the axle on the LUV the troopers gas tank would fit(i am thinking about putting one in as a second tank 8) )

the isuzu pups have a gas tank on the passenger side. 80 and older luvs have their gas tanks on the drivers side, so i don't think they will swap. i will know soon cause i'm going to be guting out the 85 pup, and my 80 luv needs a tank, so i'm going to see if it will, but it will probably take some modification, or might not even be possible to make it fit.

Are you saying you're going to mount the Trooper gas tank crosswise behind the axle? If so where will the filler neck go? You got me interested. My spare tire is already mounted in the bed.

well this idea came to me while i was under my F-150. It has twin tanks in this configuration. As far as width and depth and such of the troopers tank it looks like it should work. As far as filler nek routing, i would run it alon the bed bottom and out the side of the bed. Simmilar to how my ford is. I dont know if it will work but it might be worth the reasearch for guys who take long trips...

That's what I would want one for? Long trips. I've seen where guys have had the filler neck on the back tank on other trucks come up behind the license plate, which would flip down.
