Hey everyone, just got my first LUV about a week and a half ago. 1979 4x4 in yellow, it ran but leaked from the freeze plug at the back of the head so I yanked the motor and rebuilt it. The interior is pretty rough but like y'all know, my dash is missing the pad and surround bezel. There has to be a tattered and destroyed dash in the PNW somewhere I can get my hands on, I have no problem fiber glassing it or body working and rewrapping myself. PLEASE someone point me in the right direction. I've called a handful of yards but cant find one close.

Try to keep it in the USA. I got ripped off from an assumed USA vendor....eventually ended up in a Dubai Internet Scam Site (assholes) and it cost me $320.00 before my bank could cut the transaction!!

Buyer Beware!!

I have resolved to the fact that there are no longer decent people out there for these "specialty" things and determined the best fix for the rotted dash is to purchase 1/4" air cell padding, make a template out of 60 lb card stock and apply the foam to the dash. Use the same template (being flexible) and affix your finish materials. Buy a dash pad to cover blemishes across the top of the dash as it will be in direct sunlight and dash covers can protect it. Before you do any aesthetics, insure your stereo is acceptable as in its "DIN, Double DIN, etc, because it is easier to work on once the top mount windshield vents are removed, allowing access to the mounts, wires and any modifications you might need.

I am in the process of doing mine, but haven't made up my mind on a "Kicker System" as they are the absolute best I have ever seen or HEARD!!!!!!, so I am still looking before I "wrap" my dash and facia.

Best of luck, my friend.
