I've read all the posts concerning "starting problems" but still have no answers with my problem. My stock '80 Luv (Weber carb, '85 Isuzu dist, header) won't start, sometimes. If I drive it after pushing to start, it starts up fine. After it sets for a while, all I get when key turned on is a buzzing noise from in front of steering wheel. I've just replaced starter and solenoid thinking that was problem. Thought I had it fixed as it started right up for a while. Now its back to doing same thing, buzz when try to start. I read about the "clutch inhibitor switch" and tried to locate it. Looks like previous owner took it off, can't find anything that resembles what some of the posts describe. Replaced battery terminals, checked some wires, but don't know much more than that. I can't figure out why it starts fine for a while, then goes to giving me this problem. Does anybody have any suggestions? Hard to find mechanic that is familiar with LUV's.

A schematic of the starting system will help you. Testing for voltage as you are having the problem will tell you a lot. You should be able to find one on the site otherwise I may be able to take a picture for you.

I'm having a similar problem. My 1979 4x4 will buzz under the steering wheel. I located a relay and once the contacts make a good connection the truck will run fine. I have also noticed the blower motor will not run until that relay makes a solid connection. I'm leaning toward a bad ground but I can not find that relay on any wiring schematic...
