Hello all,

I do not yet own a luv but I am determined to acquire one. My only question as of now is about emissions components on a 1972 model year. What was it equipped with? I'm hoping someone will tell me there is no smog pump but I don't have my hopes up... The reason I ask is because I want to bud a motor and have it ready to drop in before I purchase a truck, and I would like to know what the requirements are before I get started. All answers and advise is highly appreciated!

-Andrew

im not totally sure on the early non crossflow engines but the later crossflow head engines have a smog pump. if your lookin at a 72 you shouldnt need the emissions junk anyway should you?

The 72 did come with a smog pump, air rail and pretty much everything the later model engine came with.

Yes, as above the 72 Luv had everything the later ones had from the get go. Smog pump system, gas tank evap system, EGR valve, coasting richer solenoid, etc.
And like above this might be smog deleted because of it's age.
