 Post subject: 73 water pump

There has to be some kind of trick to replacing a water pump on a 73. There is one bolt tucked up behind the front timing chain cover, it would not be a problem but I replace the head gasket and the new felpro gasket blocks me from getting to that bolt. The only other way I see is to remove the front cover first.

On the 73 to 75 engine there is one bolt behind the timing cover that you have to loosen, not remove. There is a slot the the water pump housing slides behind the bolt.
