A topper/camper shell or even a half-size cowboy sleeper with a slider window on the front, a matching rear slider in the cab. You can seal the passageway between with an inflatable donut type seal made for that purpose. Insulate the bed & topper with sheet foam, lined with thin plywood if necessary. Screened operable side windows allow venting in hot weather. Or just stick one of those lightweight doghouses with a warm bed in the topper & forget insulation. I have a similar uninsulated topper setup for my truck used for camping, if it works for people it should work for a dog.
