 Post subject: A/C???
PostPosted: Mon Dec 01, 2003 7:30 pm
I just bought my truck and I noticed that there is an A/C switch inside my truck and I looked in the engine bay and I see a unit on the leftside w/o any belts on it, it is very low. Does this mean I have A/C but it's just not hooked up. Also if this is the case I don't want it, can I remove it w/o affecting anything else on the truck?

you could remove it without no problem. you could probably make some money off the a/c if you sell it on here.

hell, i'd like to have a/c :o

When I get around to pulling off the unit you have first dibs on it.

I have decided i'm going to remove the ac system. When I take it off, I am going to remove the compressor, condesor, lines, and control panel (one of the knobs is broken). I have not tested it b/c there is no belt on it. I am willing to sell it AS IS. Send me an offer...

Since you didn't put an email in your profile. I am guessing $25 and I pay for shipping.

If the compressor hasn't any belt on it, what are the chances the previouys owner let the freon charge get too low and the compressor froze up?

Slim. These things have a built in low pressure switch and unless this one did not have one, then possible, but it is still in the minority of possibilities.
