I have been looking around for another Luv since Hurricane Ike destroyed mine. Things go right, I'll have it this weekend. Say a prayer, cross your fingers, toss the bones, or whatever you can do to put good luck on this deal. I need Luv. 1979 Dark Blue, 4 spd. will hopefully be coming home with me.

swet4more you know what it's like trying to find a Luv Truck in this area. They are either total rust buckets or somebody wants lots of money for a tricked out race truck. I just want a little stock (good gas mileage) truck to drive while I'm putting together the parts to drop a mild V8 in. I'm having too much fun just dreaming about it.

Well it wouldn't idle, wasn't charging, and most of the time it wouldn't start. I charged the battery, put new on cable ends and banged on the voltage regulator. Was finally able to keep it running until it kinda smoothed out. So I had to drive it around the block with no tags, or inspection. The more I drove it the better it ran. It's got wide tires, too wide for the truck and with about 150,000 miles on it, the handling is less than what would be desired. It needs a new muffler and tailpipe, and now I'm looking for new front end parts. But for now I'm happy.

Thanks Eric,
I think some people may look upon us strangely. I mean for some it's Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs, Corvettes or whatever, not that I don't like them cause I do. But I have felt the rush of a V8 Luv hauling the mail. It's unexpected from other drivers, and that to me is half the fun. I like the stock trucks too, they are great little trucks. Too bad they quit making them.
