Iv heard that the 1.8 head will fit in the 1.9L and u can boost compression resulting in more torque and power

So I asked a mechanic I know to help me put new pistins rings and a 1.8 head in my G200 and he said no he knows from expierence it can screw it up... Has anybody on here done this and had a problem.

your welcome
the recommendation for the heads i have heard is use the 1.8 head, smaller chamber for higher comp, with the 1.9 valves for better flow and a cam regrind will wake the motor up a lot... weber carb, 85 isuzu pup electronic distributor, and pacesetter headers and such upgrades will give you more gains.

i used to live up on beacon hill in Longview, kind of miss it up there Vancouver isn't much but a suburb of Portland anymore.

one of a kind is a great way to describe it
make sure you get a good head gasket if you dont plan to pull the head again soon afterward.
let us know how it goes. not enough people build the 1.8's... i started to but decided i need a few more cubes  the 85 pup distributor helps quite a bit, 2 wire electronic hookup and it gives you a seat of the pants power upgrade for sure. rockauto has them for pretty cheap (80-90 bucks)

Make sure the head is straight! Take it to a machinist and have him check it with a straight edge!
