My dash lights are barely visible. I’ve replaced the bulbs (no help). Has anyone come across this issue? If so, how did you fix the problem?

I assume you tried to adjust the dash light brightness via the headlight switch? Turn it left or right to adjust.

If not the switch could be bad connections somewhere. No sense trying to do much on an electrical problem until you have done the fuse box. The terminals the wires connect are riveted to the fuse holders. A little age and corrosion, and you get electrical intermittents. I solved mine by taking it apart and soldering the joints. Others have cleaned it with lemon juice, and others a new fuse box.

Does the knob vary the brightness or have any effect at all? This control does get dirty and gets intermitent and inop sometimes. You clean it with electrical contact spray just like a dirty radio volume control.

The light switch does vary the brightness. I'll remove the switch and give it a good cleaning.

You could see what voltage you are getting to the dash light circuit. That would help you determine if it's the dimmer.
