i'm removing all the emmission crap from my luv and i was wondering if anyone had ever removed that fual vapor tank thats located in the bed. i'm wondering if i remove it will my fuel tank be able to vent or does it vent somewhere else. i also found a cheap way to plug up that emmision air rail that goes into the head. the threads are the same as spark plugs. i used 4 old spark plugs and it plugged it up great. it looks kinda wierd makes it look like a straight 8. lol

i have left my vent tank off driving before but i put it on because my truck was around cuttin torches and stuff
you could use pipe plugs instead of spark plugs on the emissions stuff but spark plugs i guess would make it different jus a suggesstion

you can buy pipe plugs to go in those holes instead of sparkem plugs.....really mess with people and put spark plug wires on them!!! HA!

yea i checked for pipe plugs but the threads in the head are 14mm fine thread metric. i've looked all over and no luck. i think bolts would have too big of a head and won't clear the valve cover. i'm using the slender 5/8 spark plugs and they barely clear the valve cover. i have a old set of plug wires. i think i'm gonna put them on see how many people believe that its a straight 8.

Hmmm I took my vent tank off too, doesnt seem to harm anything.... but me after I fill up I smell fumes for about ten minutes after!!
As far as the plugs for the heads go I went with the pipe plugs, as a matter of fact I had one work it's way out one day to Seattle... scared the hell out of me I thought at first I blew an exhaust gasket but after close examination (after pulling over at a gas station) I found out what it was.
I went to the local parts store and got mine. If your looking for them still I got mine out of the "HELP" parts dept. You know what I'm talking about? The little section in most parts stores that have the HELP brand replacement products.
They have assorted size plugs and I found one that fits perfect, so after all was said and done I was very happy with the end result. Well just my two pennies.

i dont exactly know what the benifit of that is but it wont hurt anything. You will just have ALOT of fumes floating around the truck is all.
