The Wife bought me a weber outlaw for the luv for christmas and I was reading online that this is more for a performance based engine. My engine is completely stock and more then likely rebuilt before I Got it (It pulls hard and goes highway speed before I realize it sometimes). Might upgrade to header but not in the near future. Will I need to change jet sizes right off the bat?

Current Jet Sizes.
Main Jet 154
Secondary Jet 154
Primary Idle 45
Secondary Idle 45
Air Correction (Primary) 185
Air Correction (Secondary) 185
Pump Jet 70

not sure of the jet sizes since i haven't messed with mine.
if she bought it thru redline for a LUV they should have one that is properly jetted like my 32/36 was.
if your still running the stock carb that Weber will really wake your truck up. i still run the exhaust manifold with my 32/36 and you can feel a noticeable difference and some time off your 0-60

great present lol

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Your carburetor seems to be jetted just right, unless you live above 2,000 ft? These carbs were used extensively for Ford Pinto 2000 CC engines and don't require much rejetting to work just fine. One feature is the 2 stage linkage that allows you to drive on the primary side until you get about 1/2 throttle. So you can modify it to your requirement as needed.. Sure you will notice the difference right away, good luck,

I Do live above 2,000 feet but I don't think it will be a huge problem.

Sure you are ok with the elevation, Just thought I would throw that in, just fyi every 2K of elevation equal one less lb of atmospheric air pressue (or two inches of vacumn) which may affect these small engines. I used to live at 7,200" in AZ and belive me you could really feel the difference in performance there!
I used these carburetor extensively during the late 70s and early 80s when I owned a turbocharging shop in Las Vegas, NV. They are so easily tuned and I could drill out the power circuit sealing ball on the outside of the carb, then install a small brass tube and "index" the power circuit to the actual psi/vacumn in the manifold. These little carbs worked very well on engines up to 250 CI and up to 10 psi turbo boost.
Wishing you the best of 2012!
