hi i just got a 79 luv 4x4 but can get it to run. i have spark and its geting gas . any ideas ?

check timing, fireing order, and see if ur getting gas in the carb

I know this might sound stupid but i have seen safety switches connected to a clutch pedel. I'm not sure if you have a standard or not. When i went to test drive my 79luv 4x4.. before i bought it .....the truck wouldnt start , so i asked the guy what was wrong....he jumped in and started it right up!! Kinda felt stupid when he told me about the clutch saftey. And yes you well get spark....but no runnyyyy!!!! It also could be that your jets in your carb are cloged.....get some good carb cleaner .How long was the truck setting??
