I know this may sound kinda dumb but I have a question about my distributor. Ok I have a 1980 Mikado 2wd it has the stock engine in it and my distributor is the kind with the long screwdriver looking shaft on it and it only goes in one way. When I put my engine at TDC my distributor is pointing to the #4 spark plug. I tried to turn the distributor housing 180 degrees but it wouldnt start that way. Why is this. Is this the way it is suppose to be or could some body tell me whats wrong with this picture, please! Thanks

Remove the distributor and turn the motor over 1 complete revolution. The distributor should point to #1 now. Cylinders #1 and #4 will line up with the timing mark when either one as at TDC. It's a common error when messing with the distributor. The firing order should be 1-3-4-2.
