once upon a time there was a dual carb offenhouser intake for the 1.8L. Me personally i kinda think that the single webber is plenty enough. Dual carbs are hader to tune and the 1.8L i dont think could use all the gas the 2 380cfm Webbers would be dumping.

I must admit, duals would look pretty cool. Even a pair of side draft strombergs or something would be a bit of an eye catcher. Never seen an intake for anything like that though.

Even with a big cam, ported, polished, unrestricted exhaust, and everything else you could think of, a 1.8l is going to hard pressed to use up all the air flow a single Weber 38 could deliver. A 32/36 is able to keep up with most mods you can do to a 1.8l, so duals (unless small single barrel) are going to be half unused anyway.

I have a 1973 MG Midget (1275cc engine) that has a single Weber carb. It runs great but I also have a dual sidedraft carb set up with intake for it. When I had them installed I noticed a significant power difference along with it being quite noisy. The only reason I pulled them off was I drive the Midget daily and got tired of hearing the suction the carbs create. As soon as My LUV is on the road I will re-install them along with a new header. So I don't know if it was just me or the Midget engine is different, but I think they helped. Again they are side draft carbs.
