Am I going to run into any surprises, engine and tranny from a base model 77 with a 4 speed to a Mikado 77 unknown transsmission? So I have to rip out a console and cut a hole in the floor. If I buy Pumpkin's roller, I want to get it on the road quickly. It should be a direct bolt in shouldn't it?

Should be.

BTW, The engine and transmission out in his truck right now are out of my 76. They are in good shape. If you're concerned about your transmission, (not sure if you are or not since you called it "unknown") then you could probably get a good deal on my old one.

All LUV's had a hole in the floor to my knowledge. Worst case you would need to hang the clutch pedal and install a master cylinder, but even the auto's have the clutch master mounting hole if I remember correctly.
