well,
dad came over and helped me bleed the brakes.
kept questioning my every move. i told him we needed to bleed the master cylinder first, but he kept asking why...
anywho, here is a good question that i'm having trouble figuring out.
when installing new shoes, you have to take the adjusting rod at the bottom down to zero right? i did just that, and had a HELL of a time trying to fit the drum over the new shoes. i couldn't turn the trum AT ALL.
i'm used to the older 70's chevy brake systems, so is it that it just needs to be driven for a bit and it will be better?
also, i know these brakes are supposed to be "self-adjusting", but i'm not too sure how it works. anyone care to explain?

If the brakes are too tight they can get hot and lock up. Got any pics to see what might be the problem?
