Hey fellas
I have a few questions so sorry for the long post.

Firstly I need/want to get a new exhaust for 73 KB20 and was wondering if i would have to get a custom setup because the intake and exhaust is on the same side. If i do have to go the custom how much do ya reckon a 2 and a 1/2 would cost all up (from engine to rear).

Secondly, what weber carb has the manual choke and is fairly easy to fit up to the KB20. Is there another car in australia that also has the same G161z engine that i could thieve parts from (possibily a gemini a.k.a opel kadett)

Thirdly, apart from a new exhaust and carby what other stuff could i do to the truck to gain a few kilowatts?

And finally it is a column shift and i would like to know how much it would cost and what i need to do to change it to a floor shift

Sorry again for the long post

Any help would be much appreciated
Nick

The stock intake/exhaust assy is a problem because the reason they're together is the fact that the E.G.R. system is tied to both manifolds. If you build a custom header, you will eliminate the E.G.R. and a block off plate must be fabricated to close off the stock intake. As for the carb, a Weber 32/36 DGEV is the way to go. My suggestion is to add the new Weber carb and fabricate a custom exhaust. Thats it. The stock early motor is designed for economy and will not hold up to performance modifications. It has a dual timing chain setup and it will not hold up in the long run. As for the column shift, that's a new one for me. I assumed that they were floor shift like their American Luv cousins. Maybe a stock shift lever and boot will make easy work of that.
