Mysteriously antifreeze was missing from the engine every couple of days so I checked my oil it was fine looks exactly like it did when I poured it in So I pour another gallon of antifreeze in and Drive it around for a few minutes come back to the house looking at the engine I see antifreeze seeping out of the head. Someone suggested tightening the bolts a smug and maybe the problem will fix itself. I on the other hand think this is hokey and Decided to do it the right way with a new headgasket and timing chain. anything else I should look at check before I put her back together?

I need to know what size allen wrench to get from napa, I'll be walking to napa to grab me a new headgasket/timing chain and hopefully a allen socket, Started to tear down the engine to get to the timing chain.. now now im walking lol.

My LUV had the same problem, trust me you are doing the right thing. The guy I bought it from just tightened the head bolts down more and more, bad idea; he had three or four of the bolts tightened down around 100lb.! It wouldn't be a bad idea to check and see how tight the bolts are first, just in case.

If I remember right the allen should be 10mm.

10MM it was :D, I got out the torque wrench they were all fine tightened to spec, I couldn't actually get it to snug down anymore then it already was. Timing chain is fine Its tight and looks to be brand new. Hopefully I can get it fixed as soon as the pieces come in :D

Be sure you surface the head unless you like changing head gaskets allot.
Hint;

I like to chase the threads in the block and the bolts then use Copper coat sealer on the threads and torq.. This will give you well lubed threads (the copper) and seal the threads so the bolts can be retorqued later and they will stay clean.
