Find out what needs to be fixed: look under the hood while moving the steering wheel back & forth just the amount of play- make sure the steering shaft coupling doesn't move. If the shaft coupler is tight then see if the steering shaft is moving but the pitman arm isn't- if so the steering gear box is worn or needs adjustment or both. If the pitman arm is moving the amount of play then something is loose in the steering linkage under the front end-could be any connection, tie rod, drag link, even wheel bearings. OR it could be a little of any number of these things. Most likely it's your gear box- loosen the lock nut on the adjuster, tighten the adjuster with a screwdriver, re-tighten the lock nut. Just don't get carried away, this will only take out the slop in the gears, not the wear & too tight will make the steering very hard to turn. Check the lube too- takes 90w, 140w may make it a little tighter. Mine's been a little loose for 25 yrs, & no more adjustment, only way to fix is replace (did that once) or rebuild.
