Has this ever happened to anyone else? My LUV has a frame rail mounted electric pump, several years ago during a period of below zero temps moisture in the fuel collected and froze within the pump. Had to take it off & thaw it out- dumped out about a teaspoon of water (really fun working under the truck in -5 temps). I knew instantly what the problem was since the same thing had happened to a friend's '77 LUV the previous year. Since then I always add de-icer to the tank when the temps drop below freezing.

That is what I was thinking. Either that or check the filler neck and breather hose connections on the tank for a leak. I was getting water in my 77s tank and it turned out to be the small breather hose that leads from the tank to the filler neck. Gas should not have a measurable amount of water. :P

That said, it does like to get stuck in the pump when it is there. It is about the lowest point in the whole fuel system.

Maybe this is more of a problem in colder climates though, condensation on the inside of the tank and all. Oregon doesn't have too many really cold snaps on the west side down in the valley.
