Most guy's with 4X4's elect to pull the engine instead of the trans/transfer case.

Its much easier to pull the engine than the trans, its also a good time to replace any leaking gaskets & seals.

ok got the bearins out!!! broke a flywheel bolt .so i had to take one off the parts truck. but alls good got the new cluch on and the engine back in!!!!

for those of you that have ever thought what would happen when you reverse the carb. huckup wires and the trans. wires BAD things happen the volts drop for 14 - 10 and you blow fuses... that take a few mins to find out what id done wrong ...lol...

When I get my 5 speed, i am going to pull the motor out with the trans. I have removed the engine from the trans and pulled just the motor out 8 times in my truck. I can tell you, never again.

That's interesting. Do you mean the volts dropped from 14 to 10? I thought that volts would have to go get higher in order to blow the fuse. Which fuse/s blew? I only ask because i have a problem with my voltage regulator fuse that would blow afer the truck warmed up and then drove it.
Thanks!

yes the volts dropped from 14 to 10 but olny in 3rd or 4th gear. when nornaly in 3rd or 4th gear siting still with the cluch in the engine RPMs would go up about 200 RPMs ..
and it was the regulator fuse that was blowing. best i figer is it was drawing so much that the poor little 35amp generator could put out the amps so it blew the fuse.

i was having that same problem and i found out the cheap 15 amp fuses i was buying was bad "right out of the box" so i started using 30 amp that costed alittle more for the regulator fuse . that fixed my problem..

Hey Luv 16550,

I don't know much about electrial, but my mechanic told me that usually a fuse is rated above the voltage of paticular circuit. I'm wondering if you are taking a chance if you got too hot of wires, it may melt or start a fire. Perhaps someone else that knows electrial bettter can chime in.

yes that is the chance you're taking could help you find the fault or short if you catch it in time before burning i would at least set the battery up for a quick disconnect just in case. you never want to upsize a fuse unless its just to get you home if not to far or use foil like a gum rapper or piece of a pop can or whatever.but just temporarily

Hey Luv 16550,

No worries. I'll take your word for it. I've always wondering why all the Luv's fuses wee a stock 15 amp to begin with (compared to other fuse panels out there).
The KC lights do pull a lot of juice. My brother has 2 on his 87 yota pickup, had just installed them and turned htem on for a few seconds and then off. Went to start his truck, and it barely tunred over.
