I have been getting on the average 26 mpg. Well, I had to replace my valve cover gasket, so I decided while I was in there Id adjust the valves. I thought they were a little loose, so I adjusted them. Now I just filled up and on my last tank of fuel, I only got 24 mpg. Do you guys think I did something rong on the valves? My driving habits didnt change at all on that tank, so I dont think thats it. Oh and I found a super nice Luv at some guys place. It doesnt look like it has been driven in a while so I left a note to see if he wants to sell it but I havent heard yet.

Doing a valve adjustment can backfire on you if it's not done correctly. I personally do mine when my engine is cold, and I always adjust my timing and my carb immediately when I'm done.
