why do some LUV trucks have three hooks on each side of their bed while others have four?

So, a long bed has 4 and a shortbed has three? Guess i never noticed that before. Have to go count mine! Why would ya cut em off? Custom look? So would a short bed with three hooks work on a long bed frame? Or viceaversa?

In the gallery section you can see the longbed photos of the Scottish Bedford model... it has five of the hooks on the side. So the three/four hook difference must be something else... like year model perhaps?
