Just a quick one- no time to search... gotta go work on the truck.

I have a shot at a 78 2WD, runs fine, but needs a clutch. I have a 72-75 engine, complete with clutch, sitting in the garage.

Funds are tight like you wouldn't believe, and I need a second vehicle BAD.

Will the pre-76 clutch bolt up to the 78 engine/trans?

Well, according to the parts guy at Checkers, the clutch is the same on the 75 and 78 (same part number)

So I picked up the truck, towed it home and....

The clutch is probably fine- the master cylinder is out for sure, and possibly the slave cylinder.

Anyone have a good resource for online OEM parts? No one locally seems to HAVE a clutch master cylinder for the thing.

Yes, it's a hydraulic clutch- on a 78. No wing windows, 2 head lights, round gauges. Definatey a 78. Master cylinder on the firewall to the outboard of the brake master, slave cylinder on the passenger side of the bell housing. For sure a stock hydraulic system.

Weird stuff. Anyway, if anyone has a spare working master cylinder off a 76 or 77, I'd sure like to buy it from you.

So you are needing the brake master cylinder. I have 2 spares I think.

Actually, the brake master is fine- I checked the brakes on the way home. The clutch master is what I need. It's a seperate assembly, with it's own fluid res.
