Just got my first Luv. '74 - its got a 350, th350, Dana 373 posi, front discs, mini-tubbed,
2 1/2" flows, with rally wheels, and a cheapy gray paint job (sleeper). Its in decent shape.

I will make it my daily driver, after I stick a fuel tank, gauges and (probably) a 308 gear,
and a Painless wiring kit in it. It needs a little work to be on the road:
The left brake light aint workin, or the left turn signal, gotta fix that and a few rigged up things,
and a brake job.

Any first electrical things I should check on the left turn signal (front & rear dont work)
Anyone mount their battery some where "under" the bed, if so how, in a box? (in bed now)
Anyone have a good bed for sale/trade in the Houston area? Mine has wheel tubs, but is in decent shape.
Anyone fit a clutch fan in a Luv? (it has a Griffin rad.)

After its a reliable driver I plan in stickin in a mild 383 I'm building, should be a good/fun 11sec.
daily driver :) Thats the plan!

Thanks

you might want to consider stripping the wires out and adding what you need. Last year I took out the stuff that was less than desirable and replaced with what I wanted. the charging system wires are ungodly routed everywhere and alot of the wires are undersized. You know how when you have the lights and heater on the blinkers flash reallllly slow?....well I hated that and fixed it. I have a wiring diagram that I could scan and let you check out if you wanted to or anyone for that matter. I used mostly 10 gauge wire for the charging system and to power all my accessories.
all the wires that I took out of the truck looked like R2D2 threw up!

I would consider running an electric fan. you can probably get more cooling and more HP from not having the fan on the engine! :D
Of course that would require wiring too......

I should have it on the road next week (title, insur, insp, brake job).
I'd like to check out the bed, can you hold on to it for a couple of weeks for me?
Or are you in a hurry to get rid of it? If you are I could come look at it this weekend.
What year is it? does it have tail lights?
Thanks
