I am thinking about getting a turbo 2.3 litre motor with a 5 speed tranny out of a 88 t bird doing a rebuild on it and dropping it in my LUV. Anyone have any experiences with this combo? I know it's a ford motor but looks like it could be a runner.

I hope you like wiring as i put the same setup in a 90 Ranger and the electical was a pain but with four books and and a few days i had it done of course to make it harder i made it looked stock but i sold the truck as i had no time to finish it.

The 88 2.3 turbo motor was 200 HP stock and it don't take much to get more out of it like 10 hp just by going to a bigger exhaust pipe from the turbo.

If you can do the work go for it as it would be on fast little truck and get good fuel milage.Hell these were fairly fast in the t-bird now take off over 1000lbs and you can see what this is going to be like.

Roger that TJ I have the doner car to help me keep the wireing straight. What about motor mounts what did you do there? will the tranny fit or will that be a problem? Any info you can give me I will apriciate.
