Just bought a 79 4x4 for $650. Supposedly just has carb issues. No real plans yet but I'm super excited to get some looks and here and figure out what route I want to go. Basically it'll be a little truck to haul my dirtbike around. I look forward to seeing what this forum has to offer.

Welcome.

Most carb issues with these trucks can be solved by putting a Weber on in its place. Next in line is to remove the points and condenser and put a Pertronix electronic ignition module in.

Keep a watchful eye on the CV joint boots on the front axle. The CV joints are no longer available. Which means a torn boot left too long will leave you with a 2WD truck. The boots are replaceable and still available from multiple sources.

Thanks Mickey_D. I pick it up this weekend so hopefully the cx axles aren't bad. Just might have to build a drag truck if they are.
