I have bought 3 lock and cylinders now, and they won't fit the doors of my new 1980 Luv. Is it possible that the doors could be from a different model? The doors on it have the triangular window at the front that swivels out.
Thanks in advance

I used the search feature and it indicated that wing Windows ended in the 77 model year. Does your source show a different part number from 77 compared to your 80 number?

There is no difference. I took the original door locks out of my 1976 vent window doors, and put them in the 1980 model non vent window doors that are on the truck now...

I was afraid of that. I did see that wing windows ended earlier... But nothing about the locks. I'm not sure then why all the licks I've bought don't fit. I guess I'll try a 77 door lock and see what they say. Otherwise, there is something going on I don't understand.
Thanks

Are they right and left specific? Or all the same? Just throwing out a thought without checking the book first.

They don't say specifically, but I've tried both... Got some different locks that said they worked in other Gmc trucks.
. Still. Too bit... O'Reilly's mentioned being a little. More forceful... I'm. Worried it'd do damage...

They were built for GM by Isuzu. Might have better luck checking some Isuzu vehicles around that time frame... If you don't have a key for the locks in the doors that were in it, and still have the locks, take the cylinders to a lock smith and have them cut a key for them...

Came not locks on the doors... Just holes... Everything I check brings up Chevy luv... I don't get it.

The Chevy LUV was built by Isuzu and sold to Chevy to put their name on and sell in USA. Almost no other GM parts are going to fit your LUV. You might just have to find used locks and have a key made for them. I doubt you will find any new from the store locks for a LUV.

The link looks to show the correct ones, and the keys look like the OEM style. May be able to use them as reference....
