I recently purchased a trailer someone made using a Luv bed and frame/axles... I am looking into putting real taillights like what were originally in the bed. What year is this bed so i know what taillights to get? Also, is there any market for the rear axle out of this? I am considering pulling it out and putting a trailer axle under it so it weighs less and pulls easier.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

Welcome

Not sure of the exact year you have, but any taillights from 74-80 should work. 72 and 73 had them under the tailgate, and 81-82 was a different style altogether.

Someone may want the rear depending on the axle ratio. There's not a huge market for most though.

Thanks for your reply, do you know if there is a way to easily remove the gears so it rolls easier?

I do not. Maybe someone else can chime in.

If you determine the axle ratio is 3.73 or 3.42 (I think) that is a desirable ratio and it'll sell pretty quick. Are there any numbers stamped on the unit?

I'll crawl under there in the next day or two and look for markings.

I would highly suggest swapping in a trailer axle setup if you are looking for weight reduction.
You don't want to run that without the 3rd member in it for various reasons.
